Our Story
Sims humans: Jon, Heather, Noah, Daniel, Michael.
Sims goldens: Leila, Willow, Bayleigh.
Who We Are
Heather grew up raising and breeding German Shepherds. Jon grew up with Schnauzers. When we began having children we got a Mastiff - a gentle giant. What we didn't know at the time was just how amazing Golden Retrievers are. When our Mastiff was getting older, we got a golden puppy (Leila), and we were astonished at how easy she was to train, how much she wanted to be with us, and how good her behavior was around strangers. We instantly fell in love with Goldens. In fact, Jon was never a dog person until we had Leila.
What We Do
After falling in love with Goldens, we decided we wanted another. So, when Leila was old enough, we mated her with another pure-bred golden. She had seven puppies, and we kept one - Willow. As we found forever families for our other puppies, we heard horror stories about golden puppy mills and bad breeders - it is a serious issue. We quickly learned how difficult it is to find responsible breeders for goldens. This, coupled with the joy of seeing forever families get the best dog on the planet, led us to consider intentional, responsible breeding.
Why We Do It
There is nothing better than seeing the hope, joy and laughter of a family with their new puppy. Every family deserves a good, quality family dog to grow up with and have as companions in life. We believe Goldens are the best family dogs ever. And we believe that all starts with (1) good parents and (2) exceptional, intentional raising in those critical first two months. Our goal is to ensure these families have the best possible opportunity to take home a healthy, relaxed, family-friendly puppy.
